Take Highway 88O to the University Avenue turnoff in Berkeley. Follow signs (west toward bay) to Berkeley Marina, DoubleTree Hotel and César Chávez Park. At the DoubleTree Hotel follow road that curves to the left past the hotel. César Chávez Park will be on your right. Go to end of road near the circle, and park along the road or in the parking lot. Enter park near portable bathrooms and follow paved path up through the park. At the picnic tables leave paved path (paved path veers to right) and go up and over slight mound directly in front of you. As you go over the mound you will see some large stones in the distance up on "Horizon Mound" (northwest corner of the park). That is where the Interim Solar Calendar is located. The entire crest of the mound has been reserved for the Chávez Memorial. Click on the map for further directions:
